Re - Web rage attack

I have been using my Personal computer fearlessly for over a decade and the only thing I fear is the computer virus, in which I always guard against. But when I read about web rage attack in which Paul Gibbons, 47 was jailed for receiving insult while chatting with John Jones, 43.

I now believe that computer had turned the whole world into a place where somebody in a millions of kilometers away is brought closer and within your reach. Internet surfers had been warned by the police that they should not put personal details from which they could be traced on the web while chatting or passing sensitive information.

These is another lesson to be learnt, because the next person you are chatting with might be a psycho who is bent on making sure that you pay dearly for insults mauled at him in the chat room.

Internet and the child

The world is growing, technologically at an alarming rate and with its own attendant consequences. The Internet had turned the whole world into a single avenue where different activities, both good and the bad ones are being performed without leaving the confine of your bedroom.

When a 13 years old boy decided to commit suicide simply because his 12 years old girlfriend dumped him while chatting on MSN. The realities of this incident is better left for the imagination.

From the incident alone, the boy spent most of his time on the Internet, as a result of these, parental advise and upbringing is lacking. He had come to see everything from the Internet as an absolute reality and therefore he had imbibed the characteristics of Kurt Curbain of the Nirvana band and he ended up committing suicide in his own bedroom.

If the child had been taught that, love thrives with maturity and it does not succeed where lost of the flesh is attached, and that it is only the living that can show love but not dead.

These will be a big lesson to parents, who sees nothing bad in over exposing your child to the wider world of Internet.
