Maggot therapy to the rescue

Maggots are generally regarded as a disease carrier because it is found in garbages, on dead animals and sometimes on untreated sores. Therefore it is believed to be dangerous to human. Its uses in the past by the natives was eroded by the invention of antibiotics.
The news is that, with the advent of antibiotic resistant bacterias the researchers have come up with dressings that contain juices extracted from disinfected maggot larvae.
The scientists from Bradford University have discovered an extra benefit: the secretions produced by the maggots actually speed up the body's healing process.
